Description

Crispy, golden calzones filled with creamy homemade Alfredo, shredded chicken, and melty mozzarella all air-fried in minutes for a perfect family-friendly dinner.


Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup shredded mozzarella

4 tablespoons soft butter

2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped

5 tablespoons butter (for sauce)

1 cup heavy cream

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 cup fresh Parmesan, grated

Salt and pepper to taste

Marinara sauce (optional)


Instructions

Step 1: Make the Alfredo sauce Melt 5 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about a minute, just until fragrant.

Step 2: Add the Parmesan Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth. Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool slightly.

Step 3: Prepare the dough Divide the pizza dough into four equal pieces. Roll each one into a 6-inch circle on a floured surface.

Step 4: Fill the calzones Spoon some Alfredo sauce into the center of each dough circle. Add shredded chicken and top with mozzarella cheese.

Step 5: Fold and seal Fold each circle in half to make a half-moon shape. Press and seal the edges tightly with your fingers or a fork.

Step 6: Make the herb butter In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of soft butter with chopped fresh parsley.

Step 7: Air fry Brush each calzone with the herb butter. Lightly spray your air fryer basket, then place the calzones inside. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, brushing with more butter halfway through.

Step 8: Let cool and serve Remove from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Dip in marinara or more Alfredo if you’d like.


Notes

Let cool before serving.

Serve with marinara or Alfredo for dipping.

Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days.

Reheat in air fryer for best texture.
