Description
Rich cookie bars layered with chocolate, gooey caramel, and peanut butter—perfect for holidays or sweet potlucks.
Ingredients
For the Cookie Dough:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
For the Caramel Layer:
14 oz caramels, unwrapped (or caramel bits)
5 oz canned evaporated milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 pan.
2. Cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
4. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix with butter mixture.
5. Fold in chocolate chips.
6. Spread half the dough in pan and bake 8–10 minutes.
7. Microwave caramels and evaporated milk until smooth.
8. Stir in peanut butter until creamy.
9. Pour caramel mixture over baked dough.
10. Drop spoonfuls of remaining dough on top.
11. Bake 17–20 minutes until golden.
12. Cool completely before cutting.
Notes
Store cooled bars in airtight container up to 5 days.
Freeze up to 1 month.
Reheat gently in oven or air fryer for best texture.
