Description
Crispy parmesan garlic chicken burritos are golden on the outside, cheesy and juicy on the inside perfect for high-protein family dinners on a budget.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil (for pan-frying)
For the Cheese Filling:
1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
To Assemble:
2–3 large flour tortillas
1 tbsp butter (toasting the burritos)
Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Coat and season the chicken
In a shallow bowl, mix your breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge the chicken strips get each one cozy and fully coated.
Step 2: Fry until crispy golden
Heat olive oil in a skillet medium heat. Cook the chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden, crunchy, and cooked through. Let rest. Then chop into bites.
Step 3: Build your burrito base
Lay out the tortillas. Cheese goes down first (it’s the glue). Add your hot chopped chicken, sprinkle red pepper flakes if you like heat.
Step 4: Roll it tight, toast it golden
Roll those burritos tight. Fold in the sides, roll from the bottom. Melt butter in a skillet and toast each burrito, seam-side down, 2–3 minutes per side.
Step 5: Serve hot and garnish
Slice in half. Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve with sour cream, ranch, or your favorite dip.
Notes
• Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker version.
• Try different cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack.
• These reheat beautifully in the air fryer for busy weeknights.
