A homemade Deep-Dish Hamburger, Sausage & Pepperoni Pie with layers of rich meats, gooey cheese, and buttery crust the ultimate comfort dinner for busy families.
Ingredients
For the Crust:
1 box ready-made pie crust (2 crusts)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
½ teaspoon garlic powder (for brushing crust)
For the Filling:
½ pound ground beef
½ pound Italian sausage, casings removed
1 cup pepperoni slices, divided
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
1 cup cheddar or provolone cheese, shredded
1½ cups pizza sauce or marinara
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage until cooked through, about 7 minutes. Drain fat and cool slightly.
Press one pie crust into a deep-dish pan, letting the edges hang slightly over the sides.
Sprinkle half the mozzarella over the crust, then add cooked meat, half the pepperoni, and pizza sauce evenly.
Top with remaining cheese and pepperoni. Cover with the second crust, trim edges, and seal. Brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
Place pie on baking sheet and bake 20–25 minutes or until crust is golden and filling bubbly.
Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pre-bake the bottom crust for 8 minutes if you prefer a crispier texture.
This pie freezes beautifully wrap tightly and reheat in the oven for best results.
