Ingredients
For the cheeseburger filling:
1 lb ground beef
6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the corn dog batter:
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
1 cup buttermilk (or milk)
Vegetable oil, for frying
8 hot dog skewers or popsicle sticks
Instructions
1. Cook ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Drain well.
2. Mix beef, crumbled turkey bacon, and cheddar cheese. Shape into 8 hot-dog sized logs.
3. Insert skewers, place logs on a tray, and freeze 20–30 minutes to firm.
4. Whisk dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. Combine smooth. Pour into tall glass.
5. Heat oil to 350°F. Dip each log in batter and fry 3–4 minutes until golden.
6. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauces like ranch, spicy ketchup, or burger sauce.
Notes
Pat logs dry before dipping it helps the batter stick better.
These freeze beautifully just fry straight from frozen for an easy dinner win.
