Description
Crispy, cheesy, and smoky Easy Cheesy Bacon Fried Pickles are the perfect mix of tangy pickles, melted cheddar, and crunchy bacon coating. A crowd-pleaser for easy game day appetizers or cheap appetizer ideas for families.
Ingredients
1 jar (16 oz) dill pickle spears, drained and patted dry
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon paprika
Oil for frying
Ranch dressing for dipping
Instructions
1. Lay out pickle spears on paper towels to dry.
2. Mix bacon and cheese. Spoon onto pickles and wrap snug.
3. Set up bowls: flour + paprika, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs. Coat pickles in order.
4. Heat oil to 375°F. Fry pickles in small batches until golden, 3–4 minutes.
5. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with ranch for dipping.
Notes
Pat pickles very dry before breading it’s the secret to crispiness.
Air fryer works too cook at 375°F for 7–8 minutes.
Swap cheddar for mozzarella, Pepper Jack, or Gouda for different flavors.
Freeze un-fried pickles for later frying when guests arrive.
