These Famous Crab Bombs are golden, buttery, and packed with jumbo lump crab meat. Baked to perfection, they’re the ideal healthy seafood dinner or show-stopping holiday appetizer low carb, high protein, and undeniably delicious.
Ingredients
450 g jumbo lump crab meat, fresh or pasteurized
60 ml mayonnaise
1 large egg, lightly beaten
15 ml Dijon mustard
5 g Old Bay seasoning
5 ml lemon juice
15 ml fresh parsley, finely chopped
25 g crushed buttery crackers
Melted butter for brushing
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and breathe Heat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Let it fully preheat before you do anything else.
Step 2: Sort through the crab Carefully remove any shell bits from the crab, but keep those juicy lumps intact.
Step 3: Whisk the flavor base In a big bowl, whisk together the mayo, egg, Dijon, lemon juice, parsley, and Old Bay until smooth.
Step 4: Gently fold it all together Add the crab and crushed crackers. Fold gently no smashing or over-stirring.
Step 5: Shape and set on the tray Form 4–6 equal mounds and place them on a lined or greased baking tray with space between.
Step 6: Brush with butter Generously brush melted butter over each crab bomb. This is your glow-up moment.
Step 7: Bake, then wait Bake 18–20 minutes until golden and heated through. Let sit for a few minutes before plating.
Notes
For the best results, don’t overmix the crab preserve those big juicy lumps.
