Description
This homemade school pizza recipe recreates that nostalgic cafeteria flavor—soft crust, hearty meat sauce, and melty cheese. Great for picky eaters, teens, and lunch prep
Ingredients
2-2/3 cups flour,
3/4 cup powdered milk (surprisingly key),
2 tbsp sugar,
1 packet quick-rise yeast,
1 tsp salt,
1-2/3 cups warm water,
2 tbsp vegetable oil.
The sauce gets made a day before to deepen the flavor:
Tomato paste, garlic, olive oil, water, and classic dried herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary.
The filling? It’s hearty. That high-protein homemade school pizza recipe for teens packs:
½ lb Italian sausage
½ lb ground chuck
An 8oz block of mozzarella, freshly shredded
Instructions
1-Make the Dough: Preheat oven to 475°F. Spray your 18×13 pan, lay parchment. Whisk flour, milk, sugar, yeast, salt. Add warm water and oil. Stir until blended—no dry spots. Press into pan with fingertips. Rest 5 mins if sticky.
2-Bake the Crust: Bake alone for 8–10 mins.
3-Prepare the Meat: Brown sausage and beef until crumbled. Drain well.
4-Make the Sauce: Sauté garlic, then stir in tomato paste, water, oil, herbs, and simmer. Store overnight if possible.
5-Assemble: Spread sauce over baked crust. Add meat. Top with cheese.
6-Final Bake: Return to oven for 8–10 mins until cheese bubbles and edges crisp.
7-Cool & Serve: Rest 5 mins. Slice. Serve.
