Description
Island Whirl Cocktail recipe for fruity cocktail lovers. A budget-friendly tropical swirl drink for summer entertaining.
Ingredients
- 3 oz coconut rum
- 1 oz blue curaçao
- 2 oz pineapple juice
- 1 cup crushed ice
Optional but magical:
- 1 oz peach schnapps
- ½ cup frozen mango chunks or strawberries
Garnish:
- Kiwi slices
- Pineapple wedges or leaves
- Striped paper straws
Instructions
Step 1: Blend the base
Add coconut rum, pineapple juice, and crushed ice to the blender. Blend until smooth and slushy. Pour into 2–3 bowls so you’re ready to build your layers.
Step 2: Build the colors
-Stir blue curaçao into one portion for a vivid ocean layer
-Blend peach schnapps and frozen mango into the second for a golden sunset tone
-Blend strawberries or a splash of grenadine into the third for that warm pink finish
Step 3: Layer it like you mean it
Spoon each layer slowly into a clear glass using the back of a spoon for the perfect gradient.
Step 4: Garnish like it’s summer
Top with kiwi slices, pineapple leaves, and a striped straw. It should feel like you just stepped off a cruise ship.
Notes
To keep the layers distinct, chill the glasses first and spoon in slush gently. Use frozen fruit for best consistency.
For a non-alcoholic version, use coconut water and blue sports drink.
