Description

Perfect Crockpot Cheesesteak Potato Casserole is hearty, cheesy, and comforting. A budget-friendly crockpot meal that makes weeknight dinner easy.


Ingredients

Potato Mixture:

1 1/2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and diced

Meat & Vegetables:

1 pound ground beef or shaved steak

1 medium onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

Additional:

2 cups shredded cheddar or provolone cheese

1/2 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Cooking spray or butter for greasing


Instructions

1. Grease the inside of the crockpot with cooking spray or butter.

2. Brown beef or steak in a skillet. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened.

3. Mix cooked meat, vegetables, potatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika in a large bowl.

4. Layer half the mixture into the crockpot, top with cheese, then repeat.

5. Cover and cook on low 6–7 hours or high 3–4 hours until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted.

6. Serve warm, adding extra cheese if desired.


Notes

Make-ahead option: assemble in crock insert, refrigerate, and cook next day.
