Description
Crispy bread, mozzarella, and pepperoni meet tangy sauce for the ultimate cheesy, melty sandwich delight.
Ingredients
→ Garlic Butter
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
→ Sandwich Assembly
8 thick slices sturdy bread such as sourdough or Italian
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
24 thin slices pepperoni
Instructions
Combine softened unsalted butter, grated parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt in a small mixing bowl until evenly blended.
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce or marinara sauce on 4 slices of bread. Evenly top each with shredded mozzarella cheese and 6 slices of pepperoni. Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
Generously spread the prepared garlic butter over the outer sides of each assembled sandwich.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
Slice grilled sandwiches in half and serve immediately with extra warm marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
Try provolone or cheddar if you don’t have mozzarella.
For a veggie version, use mushrooms or bell peppers.
Store cooled sandwiches in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in oven or air fryer
