Description

Crispy, cheesy, and unforgettable these Stuffed Pizza Onion Rings bring together mozzarella, pepperoni, and golden breading for the ultimate party snack. Perfect for easy dinner recipes for families and quick and cheap meals that still feel special.


Ingredients

2 large onions, peeled and sliced into thick ½-inch rings

8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks or thick slices

½ cup mini pepperoni slices (or chopped regular pepperoni)

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 large eggs, beaten

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp paprika

Salt & black pepper, to taste

Oil, for frying (best oil for deep frying: vegetable or canola)

Warm marinara or pizza sauce, for dipping


Instructions

1. Slice onions into ½-inch rings. Pair two similar-sized rings. Tuck mozzarella and pepperoni inside, pressing gently to seal.

2. Place stuffed onion rings on a baking sheet. Freeze 20–30 minutes so they hold their shape.

3. Set up breading station: one bowl flour, one with eggs, one with breadcrumbs and spices. Dip each ring in flour, egg, then crumbs. Repeat egg + crumbs for extra crunch.

4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry 2–3 rings at a time until golden, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

5. Serve hot with marinara or your favorite sauce. Optional: sprinkle with parsley or Parmesan.


Notes

Stuffani’s Tip: Don’t skip the freezing step it’s the difference between perfect gooey centers and cheese melting out.
