Description
A buttery, cheesy, and beefy melt with Swiss cheese and mushrooms, this sandwich hits every comfort note. It’s the perfect quick meal for weeknights or when you crave something cozy but easy.
Ingredients
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
4 slices Swiss cheese
1 tbsp butter
4 slices sourdough or rye bread
1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
1 tbsp oil for grilling
2 tbsp mayo or garlic aioli
1 tsp salt & black pepper
Instructions
1. Sauté mushrooms in butter over medium heat until golden brown and tender. Set aside.
2. Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire. Form patties slightly wider than bread.
3. Cook patties in a skillet until browned and cooked through. Flip once.
4. Spread mayo or garlic aioli on bread. Add a slice of Swiss to each side, then beef patty, then mushrooms.
5. Heat oil in skillet. Grill sandwich until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
6. Slice and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
You can use rye bread for a bolder flavor, or sourdough for a more classic finish.
For extra richness, add caramelized onions or a drizzle of Dijon mustard.
